Interested in Becoming a Foster Parent?

Park Foster Care provides excellent support, training and benefits to people who have an interest in becoming a foster parent. Park welcome applications from people who can bring different skills, knowledge and life experiences to fostering.

Who can Foster?

Every child in our care is as unique as you are, and all have different needs. We are interested in what you have to offer a child, rather than your marital status, ethnicity, sexuality, religious belief or whether you own your home.

What do you need to Foster a child?

A variety of foster parents are needed to support the diversity in our foster children population and we support fostering applications from couples, single men & women, LGBTQ+ community and all ethnic & religious backgrounds. What we need are flexible, open and honest people who are able to consider a range of children and, who with our training and support, can understand the difficulties and early life trauma these children may have experienced.

In order to foster, you must:

  • Be over 21 (there is no upper age limit)
  • Have a spare room
  • Will need to be a full time resident in the UK or have leave to remain status

Top Tip: Don’t forget to let us know when you’re available for a call back i.e. Day/Time. We’re open during normal office hours but we’re happy to arrange an evening or weekend call if that’s more convenient for you.

Fostering is a way of providing a stable family life for children and young people in care who are unable to live with their parents at a point in time. This allows children the chance to thrive in a safe, secure, loving and caring home environment with foster carer/s.

There are over 80,080 children and young people living away from their family right now and this number is set to rise with one child entering care every 20 minutes in the UK. Thousands more foster parents are urgently needed to provide short and long term foster homes to vulnerable children and this is especially so for teenagers, sibling groups and for young children with complex emotional need.

Could you be the one they need?

Park Foster Care is encouraging people to consider a life where you get to give something back; changing children’s lives for the better through fostering. If you would like to know more give us a call on 0800 169 4552 and have an informal chat with one of our team.
