Our First Year Fostering

Becoming ‘pandemic’ foster carers has been a whirlwind but such an amazing experience. The matching with our placements have been fantastic and the support and training that we have received has been absolutely invaluable.

Every Park staff member that we’ve spoken to has been amazing; they can’t help you enough and are so thorough in everything that they do. We had originally started the application with a local authority but after speaking with Deb, we quickly knew that we needed to foster with Park instead as they are just worlds apart.

We originally were placed with a set of 2 siblings just over 10 months ago which has been the most amazing match for us as a foster family. It has been so enjoyable for our son and has given him such confidence and company during the lockdown. We have also recently had their baby sibling placed with us too and it has been so, so rewarding to know that we are keeping the 3 siblings together.

If we can say anything to potential foster carers, it would be to bite the bullet and attend one of Park’s information evenings. It has changed our lives in the best way possible and we wouldn’t change it for the world.
