Fostering LGBTQI+ – Park Celebrates at Pride

Promoting Fostering Information at Derby Pride Event

At the lively Pride event, held at Markeaton Park in Derbyshire, Stacey and Michelle opened our fostering information gazebo and chatted with fantastic folks who were keen on opening up their hearts and homes to foster parenting.

The event brought people from different walks of life together on one of the hottest days of the year. It was both entertaining and community-driven, with a variety of stallholders in attendance. There really was something for everyone, including live music, funfair, professional wrestling, a kid’s zone, and plenty of fabulous stalls. The highlight of the day was The Ambassador Show Band who led a massive crowd around the park, creating an electric atmosphere.

A big thank you to everyone who came to see us and to the Derby Pride organisers for creating a safe and inclusive space and for creating a day filled with food, fun, drink, music and of course, rainbows.

Park Encourages LGBT Individuals to Become Foster Parents

There is a dire need for more foster parents in the UK to provide loving and stable homes for children. Unfortunately, many believe that being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender is a disqualification for fostering, but we want to change that perception. Research shows that children thrive just as well under the care of LGBT individuals as they do with heterosexual couples/ singles. With over 70,000 children in care, it’s essential to have strong, resilient, and compassionate foster parents, regardless of their age, marital status, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

We encourage anyone who is interested in becoming a foster parent to inquire with us today by calling 0800 1694552 or 01782 569500.
